What happens from event submission through payout and guest check-in.
Who can sell tickets?
Businesses, venues, nonprofits, public agencies, community organizers and residents may apply if they organize the event or are authorized to sell its admission. The event must pass Jersey Alerts review and the seller must satisfy the published requirements.
Does it cost anything to list an event?
A standard event submission is free. Jersey Alerts currently deducts a 8.00% platform fee from organizer ticket proceeds when a ticket sells. Stripe processing fees are separate. Optional featured promotion is priced separately and always labeled.
When do I receive my payout?
Stripe controls payout eligibility, timing and bank delivery for your connected account. Timing may vary based on account status, verification, payment risk, refunds, disputes and Stripe’s payout schedule.
How do buyers receive tickets?
After Stripe confirms payment, Jersey Alerts creates individually signed tickets and emails the buyer a private order link. Each ticket contains a QR code and a short ticket code.
Can the same QR code be used twice?
No. A successful check-in marks that ticket used. A later scan reports that it was already accepted and shows the first check-in time. Refunded or void tickets are rejected.
Can I change prices or quantities?
You can manage ticket types and hide or show inventory from your organizer dashboard. You cannot reduce quantity below tickets already sold or reserved. Material event changes must remain accurate for existing buyers.
Who handles refunds and cancelled events?
The organizer publishes and fulfills the refund policy. Jersey Alerts records payment and ticket status and can suspend sales, but the organizer remains responsible for cancellation, postponement, venue and admission decisions.
Can I resell tickets I bought somewhere else?
No. This system is for primary admission created by an event organizer or its authorized representative. It is not a general secondary-market resale service.
Can I offer discounts to veterans, teachers or first responders?
Organizers may describe lawful public discounts they independently administer. Jersey Alerts is preparing an ID.me verification option, but no ID.me-verified discount should be advertised through Jersey Alerts until that integration is approved and activated.
