Paterson Police Department Announces Promotions of 21 Members

The Paterson Police Department will recognize the promotions of 21 members of the Department during a promotion ceremony at Passaic County Community College, recognizing officers who have taken on new responsibilities and advanced in their careers with the Department. The promotions include members advancing to the ranks of captain, lieutenant, and sergeant, as well as officers being promoted to detective and detective sergeant. Officer in Charge Patrick Murray congratulated those promoted and emphasized that advancement in rank brings with it a greater responsibility to the officers they lead, the Department, and the community they serve.

“I want to congratulate each of these individuals who have earned these promotions, and remind them that with rank comes increased responsibility. Much will be expected of them,” said OIC Murray. “The officers they lead will look to them when things are going well, and more importantly, when things are not going well.
