MOONACHIE AREA, NJ — A large white box truck overturned near the Paterson Plank Road ramp serving the Moonachie area Monday afternoon.
Original Jersey Alerts video recorded at approximately 3:12 p.m. on October 5, 2026 shows the truck resting on its side in a grassy area behind a highway guardrail. Its cargo body appears heavily damaged.
At least one person can be seen near the vehicle, but the person’s identity and connection to the crash are unknown.
The cause of the crash has not been established. Jersey Alerts has not confirmed whether anyone was injured, what the truck was carrying, who owned the vehicle or whether any summonses were issued.
The exact municipal jurisdiction also remains subject to confirmation. The nearby Route 120 connector terminates in East Rutherford at an exit serving Moonachie and County Route 503.
At the time of publication, Jersey Alerts had not located an earlier public report about the incident. The crash was not displayed among the active incidents on 511NJ, and the Moonachie Police Department’s public alerts page did not contain a matching notice. The absence of a public alert does not mean that police or emergency personnel did not respond.
